Greensea Systems, Inc., doing business as Greensea IQ, has been awarded an $18,154,710 Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity contract by the US Navy to provide hardware, software, and engineering technical services for maritime underwater controllers.
The seven-year, sole-source award was made under the authority of 10 U.S. Code 3204(a)(1) by the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific in San Diego, California. The contract focuses on the development and sustainment of the Bayonet Underwater Controller (BUC), which is utilized to operate autonomous and remotely operated systems in challenging marine environments.
The BUC is paired with EOD Workspace software and built on the company’s Core open architecture software. It forms an integral part of the broader Bayonet product portfolio, a comprehensive technology stack that includes a scalable lineup of Autonomous Underwater Ground Vehicles, remote navigation packages, mission execution software, and training simulators. This technology suite is engineered to provide flexible capabilities spanning from the surfzone through deepsea terrain, ultimately delivering more efficient and safer missions for naval warfighters.
Bayonet General Manager, Fred Gaghan, said, “Greensea makes some of the industry’s most mature robotic platforms and software suites. The Bayonet portfolio is making defense forces more capable in addressing critical challenges across a broad spectrum of the operational environment. The Bayonet Underwater Controller (BUC) will be an essential component for warfighters conducting Special Warfare, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and other sensitive underwater operations.”
