Handheld, a subsidiary of MilDef Group, has been contracted to deliver a large number of operator computers to a U.S. based global defense group.
The computers will be integrated into the U.S. defense group’s nano drones, specifically designed for military battlefield surveillance.
Handheld’s customized control computer is based on a 7-inch ultra-rugged Android tablet. The company assert that drone technology has emerged as a game-changer in modern warfare, revolutionizing the way military operations are conducted. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones, offer numerous advantages that have significantly transformed the battlefield and enhanced military capabilities.
Handheld state that the new order value amounts to SEK 69 million, with growth potential when deliveries of additional quantities begin. Deliveries are planned for 2025-2026.
