Revector, a developer of cellphone and Wi-Fi detection and surveillance solutions, has released Watcher, a next-generation, non-contact life-preservation system designed to enhance safety and monitoring within detainee and in-custody care environments.
The system utilizes 60 GHz radar technology and proprietary algorithms to monitor presence, movement, heart rate, and respiration without the need for wearables, cameras, or physical contact. By capturing movement 50 times per second with sub-millimeter accuracy, the technology detects micro-movements that enable the early identification of medical distress or behavioral risks, while also supporting highly accurate behavioral insight. The system remains effective even when individuals are asleep or stationary.
Watcher sends real-time alerts using customizable vital-sign thresholds, enabling staff to act quickly when conditions change. The system complements traditional guard rounds by closing critical monitoring gaps and adding an extra layer of protection in high-risk or understaffed areas. Its non-intrusive design preserves dignity while helping reduce liability and improve early-incident detection and overall safety.
The architecture is built for flexibility and scalability, utilizing Power over Ethernet (POE) Cat5/6 connections to a central processing hub. It can operate on-premise or remotely with secure connectivity and supports both mounted and mobile deployments.
The technology is well suited for jails, prisons, medical units, and high-risk housing facilities. By enabling earlier and more informed intervention, including the detection of distress or medical emergencies before they escalate and buying critical response time, the system aims to set a new standard for continuous life-preservation monitoring, supporting staff and helping protect lives.
Future iterations of the platform are expected to include expanded capabilities such as biometric tracking, temperature sensing, and rules-based analytics.
Experts will be showcasing the Watcher system at the Security and Policing show in Farnborough from March 10th to 12th at stand B152.
