DeltaQuad joined government, industry, and academic leaders at the European Defence Innovation Forum (EDIF) 2025 in The Hague to champion collaboration, speed, and innovation as keys to Europe’s defence future.
Speakers underscored that close public–private cooperation and battlefield-informed development are essential to delivering effective solutions and supporting partners like Ukraine.
Sander Smeets (CEO of DeltaQuad and Board member of the Battlefield of Resilience Foundation) and Maria Shelasheva (founder of Deftechcluster).
A highlight of the event was the signing of a strategic partnership between the Dutch Battlefield Resilience Foundation and Ukraine’s Defence Tech Cluster. Representing DeltaQuad as both CEO and board member of the foundation, Sander Smeets played a key role in this agreement, which focuses on collecting real-time battlefield data, developing practical systems, and scaling proven drone technologies.
Throughout the forum, drones and counter-drone capabilities, areas where DeltaQuad is an established leader, were repeatedly cited as critical to modern warfare. The conflict in Ukraine has accelerated innovation, demonstrating the importance of rapid procurement cycles, industrial-scale production, and strong cross-border partnerships to meet urgent defence needs.
