The Dutch Ministry of Defence has entered into a Letter of Intent (LOI) with DeltaQuad covering the development and production of the company’s Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), with the signing taking place at VDL Groep’s production site in Born on 6 October 2025.
Signed at VDL Groep’s Born production facility, the Ministry simultaneously formalized a long-term strategic partnership with VDL Groep while concluding additional agreements with Milrem Robotics and Tulip Tech for separate defense equipment programs.
Through this LOI, the Ministry is calling for DeltaQuad to expand production of its Evo VTOL UAVs. The agreement represents an initial move toward establishing the manufacturing capacity required to address increasing demand and support European sovereign defense capabilities.
Building on the existing partnership with VDL, the agreement demonstrates that DeltaQuad can extend its production line to VDL’s facility, gaining the mass and scalability required for large-scale manufacturing.
Beyond production, the cooperation also encompasses future innovation and operational collaboration. VDL’s flexibility and expertise will strengthen DeltaQuad’s capacity for rapid innovation while expanding its production capabilities.
The LOI represents more than just a commitment to production; it marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with the Ministry, focused on building a strong Dutch defense ecosystem. By working closely, the Dutch Ministry of Defence, VDL Groep, and DeltaQuad can respond more rapidly to growing national and international demand and further strengthen the Netherlands and Europe’s position in defense innovation.
