The XChange3031 from X-ES is a conduction-cooled 3U VPX Ethernet switch optimized for high-throughput, deterministic networking in defense environments. Engineered to deliver non-blocking, full wire-speed performance, it integrates a 40GBASE-KR4 backplane port, six 10GBASE-KR, four 10GBASE-T, and up to eight 1000BASE-T ports, supporting advanced Layer 2 switching with extensive IEEE and IETF protocol compatibility.
Built to handle IPv6 traffic and jumbo frames up to 10 kB, the unit is hardened to VITA 48 REDI standards and offers reliable operation under extreme environmental conditions. Designed for tactical edge networking, the XChange3031 optionally supports Layer 3 routing via integration with the XChange6300 Embedded Services Router powered by Cisco IOS-XE®.
Managed features include VLANs (802.1Q), QoS, IGMP, port mirroring, 802.1x authentication, and SNMP. The switch offers transparent IEEE 1588v2 clocking for time-sensitive applications, and its modular design includes optional XMC support and IPMI controller integration (VITA 46.11 Tier 1/2).
