Honeywell Aerospace has entered into a groundbreaking supplier framework agreement with the U.S. Department of War to significantly increase the production capacity of essential defense technologies.
The multi-year agreement includes a $500 million investment dedicated to upgrading production facilities. As one of the first Tier 1 suppliers to sign a framework of this nature, Honeywell Aerospace is focusing on delivering high-priority capabilities to American and allied forces at the speed and scale required by modern national defense.
Jim Currier, President and CEO of Honeywell Aerospace, said, “Honeywell Aerospace is proud to embrace the challenge and meet this urgent need. Our commercial operating system enables us to invest in advanced technologies and manufacture at scale and speed, delivering a substantial and enduring benefit to the customer and taxpayers.”
Under the new terms, the company will ramp up production across three primary technological sectors: navigation, actuation, and electronic warfare. Honeywell is currently a global leader in resilient navigation technology, providing inertial navigators that serve as critical enablers for the majority of precision munition platforms worldwide. These systems are designed to remain functional in highly challenging environments.
The agreement also prioritizes the Assure electronic control and actuation systems. These components are recognized as some of the most precise and speed-responsive systems available for missile maneuverability. They are utilized extensively in interceptors, tactical missiles, and other high-performance strategic platforms.
Finally, the production surge will encompass Electronic Warfare solutions. These technologies provide vital functionality for a wide array of U.S. military platforms, ranging from fighter jets to the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program and AMRAAM missiles. The company’s advanced technologies further support the domains of Signals Intelligence and Electronic Intelligence.
