G3 Systems is celebrating 25 years of providing design and delivery services for deployable and fixed infrastructure solutions in austere overseas environments.
This milestone coincides with the completion of four years of diverse infrastructure support for the South Atlantic Permanent Joint Operating Bases (PJOBs). The achievement adds to a long history of providing project and facilities management to UK and NATO forces, as well as various government departments, during high-risk operations worldwide. The company has previously managed a wide array of technical facilities, including hospitals, power generation plants, command and control centers, and workshops. Notable past operations include providing fire-fighting services for international airfields throughout Afghanistan, including those in Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, and Kandahar.
In the South Atlantic, the firm served as a subcontractor to enhance Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS) on Ascension Island over the last three years. Simultaneously, the team led a significant schedule of infrastructure upgrades at the Mount Pleasant Complex (MPC) in the Falkland Islands over the last four years. These efforts involved completing more than 230 projects to ensure facilities remain compliant with modern legislation and fit for purpose without disrupting ongoing operations. These services were maintained on a 24/7, 365-day basis to protect Ascension Island as a strategic UK asset.
Nick Rose, Managing Director of G3 Systems said, “As we reflect on over 25 years of G3 Systems history and direct support to the British military deployed overseas on operations, from Iraq and Afghanistan in the early 2000’s, through to today in the South Atlantic, I am immensely proud of what the teams have achieved in the most remote and often demanding of conditions.”
The company currently manages complex infrastructure projects and facility support contracts globally for the FCDO and the British military. Supported by its parent company, Intrepid, which specializes in professional services for the US military, G3 Systems maintains the scale required for global reinforcement.
Nick Rose added, “We currently have complex infrastructure projects and facility support contracts running all over the world in support of the FCDO and British military. With the backing of our parent company Intrepid, who are also experts in supporting facilities and providing professional services for the US military, we have the scale and reach to reinforce globally as needed, and therefore G3 Systems is fully prepared to take on a more strategic role in supporting overseas operating bases, in the future.”
