The T3U is a robust and high-accuracy rotary servo actuator that has been specially designed for underwater applications, featuring a pressure-compensated oil-filled design that allows it to operate at depths of down to 6000 meters and withstand pressures of up to 10,000 psi. It is ideal for actuation of subsea vehicle control surfaces and underwater valves.
The unit combines a high-power density BLDC motor with integrated control electronics and contactless absolute position feedback to generate high torque in a lightweight and compact package. The unique gearing design allows the actuator to withstand higher transient loads than traditional compound spur gear trains without structural failure.
Actuator position and phase currents can be controlled via CAN 2.0B or serial RS-485. Feedback information includes absolute position, motor phase current, temperature, bus voltage, humidity, and actuator health.
