Ultra I&C has showcased its Orion X500 and X650 radios and Archer troposcatter technologies to European NATO allies across five dispersed locations throughout Poland, marking a critical advancement in secure, multi-domain, and mobile communications networks.

The demonstration delivered high-throughput data transmission across multiple waveforms and frequency bands.

Orion radios deployed on multiple platforms, such as drones and vehicles, within a mesh network, showed strong operational flexibility and interoperability within a small form factor.

A bidirectional throughput of 200×200 Mbps was achieved at distances over 50 kilometers, using Band III and IV spectrum to support mobile, multi-theater operations essential for force survivability.

Orion’s frequency hopping capability demonstrated resilience against detection and jamming in contested environments. The Orion X650 specifically showcased Ultra I&C’s self-forming mobile ad hoc network (MANET) waveform, employing advanced multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) techniques to maximize data transmission speed and spectral efficiency.

The company’s Archer troposcatter system reached high throughputs over 133 kilometers whilst keeping secure links independent of satellites or ground-based infrastructure. Rapid and tool-less setup was in under 15 minutes.

The exercise further emphasized the speed and efficiency of operating Ultra I&C’s communication solutions, especially within denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) environments where adversaries actively target communications infrastructure.

Jon Rucker, CEO of Ultra I&C, stated, “This demonstration proves our systems deliver an integrated, tactical advantage now. Our combined line-of-sight and beyond line-of-sight capabilities provide warfighters with high-capacity, long-range, resilient communications that securely deliver critical data in the toughest operational environments.”

Ultra I&C’s exercise therefore validates foundational data transport layer capabilities essential to modern warfare, where the speed of battlefield information determines operational success. It also highlights Ultra I&C’s pivotal role in military modernization, providing foundational communications infrastructure for command and control capabilities in next-generation warfare.
