BAE Systems has been awarded a Ā£133 million contract to further mature the StrikerĀ® II Helmet Mounted-Display (HMD) capability alongside a programme of flight testing.
The Striker II HMD is one of the worldās most advanced fighter aircraft helmets. It uses the latest helmet display technologies to integrate its all-digital night vision system and daylight-readable colour display.
Data is displayed directly onto the pilotās helmet visor, providing them with mission-critical information right before their eyes.
The new contract was awarded by the four-nation Eurofighter consortium ā Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. BAE Systems’ engineers will work to mature the helmetās capability.
