Alpine Eagle is scaling the production of its Sentinel counter-drone system to address a rapid increase in demand from European governments seeking deployable solutions against large-scale aerial threats.
The company has experienced significant growth in its customer base since the German Bundeswehr first deployed the Sentinel system in 2024. Following this initial launch, Alpine Eagle has secured contracts with three additional European customers and successfully expanded its operations into the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
The Sentinel system utilizes a sophisticated architecture that integrates airborne radar and a comprehensive sensor network. This software-defined platform is designed to detect and track hostile drones across wide geographic areas, utilizing onboard airborne interceptors to defeat incoming targets.
Operational testing and innovation programs have been central to the company’s recent activity. Over the past year, Alpine Eagle has conducted counter-drone trials in Ukraine and participated in Project Vanaheim, a joint counter-UAS exercise involving both United States and United Kingdom armed forces. Currently, the firm is engaged in a dedicated defense innovation programme within the Netherlands.
Jan-Hendrik Boelens, Founder and CEO of Alpine Eagle, said, “Defence ministries are increasingly looking for systems that can be delivered quickly and scaled as operational demand grows. By building on existing industrial capacity and integrating it with our own sensor and software architecture, we can provide counter-drone capability that is both deployable and scalable. I’m incredibly proud of what the Alpine Eagle team has achieved over the past year. The reality is that threats facing Europe are higher than they have been for decades and drones are transforming the battlefield faster than traditional defence systems can adapt. Our mission is to ensure democracies have the tools they need to defend their airspace in this new era of warfare.”
This expansion is reflected in the company’s internal growth. Alpine Eagle increased its team from 12 employees in 2024 to 50 by early 2026. To support the current manufacturing trajectory, the company plans to double its workforce to 100 employees by the end of this year. The rapid scaling highlights a broader trend of increasing demand for specialized counter-drone capabilities across allied defense markets.
