OPENSEA Edge combines the power of Greensea IQ's proven OPENSEA software framework with state-of-the-art edge computing hardware to provide an effective solution for developers of naval and defense ROVs, AUVs and subsea robotics platforms looking to empower their designs with full autonomy, tetherless command and control, and other advanced functionality.

Based around two NVIDIA processors and a Gigabit Ethernet network architecture, it provides robust subsea connector interfaces for the vehicle, video sensors, sonar sensors, navigation sensors, and acoustic communications.

By shifting the computing burden from topside to the edge, bandwidth requirements for subsea vehicle communications can be relaxed, enabling the use of lower-bandwidth and higher-latency acoustic and satellite links instead of fiber optic and Ethernet tethers. This, in conjunction with enhanced processing capabilities, addresses the requirements of next-generation subsea naval vehicles and robotics, providing advanced capabilities such as over-the-horizon command and control and AI-enhanced autonomy.
