AI-based cybersecurity solutions provider Clavister has been awarded a Proof of Concept (PoC) contract for the provision of specialized cyber security technology that will enable military organizations to detect disturbances in satellite communications.

To win the contract, which was awarded by the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV), the primary provider of equipment to the nation’s armed forces, Clavister participated and competed in FMV’s ‘TechDay’ – the agency’s military innovation program, which aims to identify new technologies that have the potential to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces.

This edition focused on space technology and while competing against some of the most innovative companies, Clavister’s proposal was chosen as the standout contestant.

According to the company, innovation in space is an essential part of achieving military advantage for Europe and cyber security needs to be embedded right at the heart of developing new innovative space technologies. Clavister expects the broader space sector to benefit from this work.

“We are proud to have been awarded this contract and to have been chosen as the most innovative solution provider among a group of hugely impressive businesses,” said Stefan Brodin, Head of Defence Solutions at Clavister. “This win underlines the strength of our capabilities across industries and is a specific signal of intent for the applications of our AI technologies to the space sector.”

“There has never been a more important time to ensure our core communications networks are secured from disruption and malicious attacks. Nowhere is that more crucial than in the military and its satellite systems, and we look forward to collaborating with the FMV on an ongoing basis to ensure that work is done to the highest standard,” said Nils Undén, Clavister’s CTO. “This win is an important milestone for us, but only the first step in what I am confident will be a long journey of exploration and refinement.”
