Following the November 2024 inaugural Blue Magic Netherlands (BMN) event, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has invested in Arceon, a company specializing in ceramic composites developed using an innovative melt infiltration process.
The decision was influenced by Arceon’s BMN pitch and the detailed business and technology discussions with GA-ASI and GA’s affiliates, General Atomics Energy and General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems.
Moreover, Arceon’s Carbeon carbon-ceramic components, engineered for nozzles, nozzle extensions, leading edges, nose caps, and airframes for example, meet increasing and rigorous demands of space and defense sectors, highlighting the importance of this partnership.
Brad Lunn, Managing Director for GA-ASI, said, “We’re excited to be working with Arceon. Their technology could have a broad range of applications for GA, from high-temperature engine exhaust materials to hypersonics and fusion containment.”
Rahul Shirke, Founder and CEO of Arceon B.V. also stated, “We are honored to collaborate with General Atomics in advancing hypersonic development. This milestone marks our official entry into the U.S. defense sector, presenting an extraordinary opportunity to demonstrate our technology on a global stage. We look forward, with great anticipation, to the journey ahead.”
Areceon therefore join Emergent Swarm Solutions and Saluqi Motors receiving GA-ASI investment following the BMN event.
The BMN conference itself was organized collaboratively between GA-ASI, the Dutch Ministry of Defense, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Brainport Development in Eindhoven, and Brabant Development Agency (BOM).
GA-ASI themselves continue to work with the Dutch government and Dutch industry, supporting the growth of technology innovation in the Netherlands. The company is delivering 8 MQ-9A aircrafts to the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) as well as anticipating to hold its second BMN event in Eindhoven later this year.
