Expanded Beam Connectors

Expanded beam fiber optic connectors utilize a lens in front of the fiber end that expands and collimates the light into a mating connector. This expansion of the beam provides enhanced alignment tolerance and lowers the impact of contaminants, making the connectors much more resilient to harsh-environment factors such as dirt, dust, mud, water, and oil. In addition, they can be easily cleaned and need much less maintenance.

As the expanded beam connection is contactless, the connectors can also withstand much harsher levels of shock and vibration, and benefit from longer lifecycles.

All our expanded beam connectors are designed to MIL-DTL-83526 20/21 standards, and are the solutions of choice for the Swedish Armed Forces.

FALCON Connectors

The FALCON range of connectors provides the best optical performance on the market, developed in collaboration with the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) and offering options for 1 to 12 fibers.

The FALCON connectors offer the best attentuation values on the market with 1-12 channels. With an insertion loss of <1,2 dB, it outperforms the NATO specification (<2,5 dB). In addition, the FALCON is the only expanded beam connector on the market that has proven to transfer 40Gbit/s over one channel and can endure up to 100^oC.

• Insertion loss of <1.2 dB (NATO standard is 2.5 dB)

PROCON Connectors

PROCON is our cost-effective connector range, based on the proven FALCON design and offering value without compromising on quality. These connectors are available with 1 to 4 fibers.

• Operating temperature range from -57^oC to +85^oC (+100^oC optional)
• Insertion loss of <1.5 dB (NATO standard is 2.5 dB)

Cables & Reels

We have developed a number of rugged and combat-proven solutions that facilitate effective tactical cable deployment under challenging field conditions.

Our Cable Reel provides convenient organization, storage and transport of tactical fiber and other types of wiring, and has been developed in collaboration with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The robust unit is constructed from sheet metal, and includes an auxiliary spool as well as a rotation brake on the backside for locking in position.

Available in green, black or sand colours, the reel can be customized to user specifications with lengths from 50 up to 1000 meters (dependent on cable diameter).

The Tactical Backpack is a lightweight and easy-to-carry solution for field deployment of optical fiber in harsh environments, weighing less than 5kg without a cable drum. Providing hassle-free deployment and rewinding, it is ideal for rapidly establishing mobile emergency telecommunications and other military use cases.

The backpack features a highly ergonomic design with adjustable straps, durable padding and a stable reelstand with high-friction bumper feet. It is available in green, black or sand colours.

Custom MIL-Spec Patch Cords

We can create rugged mil-spec patch cords and patch cables that can be customized to your unique requirements for length, fiber type, connectors and cable construction.
